Does a sync speed of 8128kbps mean I'm on LLU?

As above.

Been having some speed issues for the last few days.

So, does syncing at 8128/448 indicate an LLU service?.

The thing that is confuzzling me at the moment is that the router stats ( Netgear DG834 ) show this sync rate, but according to SamKnows, my exchange isn't LLU enabled as yet by my ISP.

The wee Netgear used to tell me I ws syncing at around 7616 which I think was IP Stream.

Downloading test files from Zen Fuller says this :-

And finally, downloading from my private server at Rapidshare says this :-

I'm so confused by the massive variation in numbers/speeds there.

You tried downloading something from Microsofts site? That usually maxes out my 13mb line, a lot of servers will cap the available bandwidth to each user.

With AOL/CPW mate.

Been very strange over the last week or so. I've been downloading regularly at over 8000kbps. I usually only manage about 6500kbps max.

Then, as has happened before at the weekends, speeds drop drastically. They usually pick up and get back to normal after the Sunday.

But they haven't got anywhere near back to normal by now and it's Monday evening. Rebooted router a couple of times but still no dice.

Speed tests on different places will differ, standard ADSL services are usually on 50:1 contention so you'll be synced at full speed however your throughput is dependant on bandwidth beyond the exchange which you are sharing with up to 50 other users.

Like I said. Your sync rate has nothing to do with real life speed, all that means is your modem can transmit at just over 8 million bit-times per second on the pair of copper wires between your router and the Exchange gear.
Contention means you are sharing the available bandwidth with other users you can expect quite drastic variations in speed depending on who else is doing what. Your 8mbit is probably shared between 50 people if any one of those 50 theoretical people starts to do things it'll reduce your real life speed but your sync rate will be unaffected.

Some ISPs also restrict the max speed per connection on certain types of traffic during peak times to more evenly distribute the contended bandwidth. This can also make your internet appear slower yet remain sync'd at full speed.
