Does a TV cabinet with these dimensions exist?

Hi all

I've just got my shiny new 42" Panasonic plasma today, and I am now in the market for a new TV stand that will better fill the corner where the TV is.

This is what I'm after, which is essentially just a square table with one corner cut off.

It needs to be about 55cm tall, and have a shelf underneath the top that can fit my desktop sized media centre PC.

I'm really struggling to find anything that meets these requirements!

Many thanks for any advice.

Michael.

I take it you have checked the "AV stands" websites? there are a lot of different designs out there, and going by the shape, it's not an unusual one, it's just rather large.

Have you thought about getting one made for you? may cost more but should be worth it.

I've worked out that the width I need is 140cm, and it needs to be oak, or oak veneer! This is proving to be a right struggle. I wouldn't know where to begin to make such a thing myself :(

we have one, but it's smaller (20cm and 60cm vs 35 & 1m)

i doubt you'll find what you're looking for unless you go to high-end retailers or shops that aren't chains.
probably best off getting one built for you, if you know a carpenter

We have one like that, a wooden unit in very dark wood, with two opposite corners cut off. Then the sub is behind the TV in the corner, makes for a very clean room. Plus you will want ventilation to the rear if you're planning to have a media PC under there too.

why does it need to be oak? can you not just use a cheaper timber and stain it. i would ask a joiner to do it, will cost a bit but it'll outlive you!
