I have been told that write caching on either an ssd or hdd is disabled and you must enable write caching via system ram to get a write cache. I have tested this with my raid 10 4 x 14TB and its also evident when a single nvme is installed as a raid volume (single drive). I tested the Sabrent Rocket (which I got for £117 on prime day after using the free £10 for topping up £100 credit to be used instantly), in legacy and as a single drive array and it did not hit its rated 5000MB/s on my Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite.
