Does a wireless USB hub / extender exist?

I'm thinking about building myself a Steambox-style PC so I can game in my living room. However, most cases only have 2 USB ports on the front, and my gaming peripherals are mainly wired anyway. So I'm wondering if there's such a thing as a wireless USB hub? I could have a table in front of me with the hub and my peripherals plugged in to it, and it would wirelessly talk to the PC. And if there were two of us playing, we could have one each.

Gefen used to sell one but it has been discontinued. I'm aware there extenders that work by using ethernet cables, but I'd really rather minimise the number of cables around the room

They do exist, how well they work is another thing though.

I wouldn't want to have anything that needs fast input (keyboard/mouse) being transmitted through a wireless usb hub though :(

There will be USB's on the back of the PC though so surely you could just use those.

At 2.4 GHz that shouldn't be a problem.

Generally, PCs aren't transparent to RF signals. And as I mentioned, most of my peripherals are not wireless. I'll be sitting ~10 feet away from the screen too.
