Does AMD support 144hz?

Can't find anything reliable on the internet that can tell me if AMD graphics cards can support a 144hz refresh rate.

I have an Asus HD7970 on its way and I'm thinking of purchasing the Asus VG248QE.

Any help is much appreciated, cheers!

Don't see any reason why not, resolution and refresh is usually limited by the connector not the card.

i can get 500fps in minecraft sometimes. can only display 60hz though

Is that using an ATI card and the same monitor? Are you using the right connections?

7970 Ghz and BenQ XL2411T here. 144Hz working great.

If you read 'the' review on the ASUS VG248QE you'll see that a Radeon 7950 was used to test the monitor extensively at 144Hz. It works absolutely fine.
