Hello folks. I upgraded my tv & internet upto XLTV and 20Meg net in oct 2007 with virgin. Im just wondering if that upgrade means a new 12 month contract with them. Will i have to pay for the remaining contract if i cancel it now? What fees/bills will i have to pay?

Thanks in advance;)

I am sorry i dont know for sure but most contracts will mean paying off the rest of the contract (using contract twice in a sentence cannot be right) but surely thats only 1 months worth?

I know it seems like a patronising answer but can you not phone them? to cancel with them often takes 30 days anyway and that will take you into october so you might be ok.

Depends if you got a new deal or not - plain simple upgrade and paying the actual difference means being held to a 30day minimum period. Upgrading and changing the deal package means re-contracting...

The old policy was no. The new policy seems to be that if you take a discounted deal eg retentions offer then yes but as I no longer work for them I don't have the answer. Call 150 and see :)

Thats not entirely correct, the policy hasnt changed at all for plain tier upgrade, but they now also take the opportunity to re-contract you with a package deal which would then extend your contract...

If you took a deal in the past you would have been re-contracted...
