has any one got the above set up ??

and what are your thought on it when overclocked ?

and do you have any benchmarks stock vs clocked ??

Don't own that setup but IMO its a bit pointless as the resolutions where you'd need the 3rd card for performance would really need more VRAM.

well ive moved to a 2560x1440 res and the gpu's strain even clocked to 825/1650/1800 in some games but for reading the tri-sli benchamrks they scale realy well at the high res in games like metro which shows vram isnt an issue yet at this res

I mainly looking to max BF 3 when its out at my native res and would like to know how people find they perform in highly demanding games as the benchmarks in that review are at stock clocks

Not tried 2560x1440 with tri-sli but was getting pretty tight on the VRAM limits quite a lot with 3x 1680x1050 and 470 SLI when I tried that.

Not recommended. Due to the nature of AFR, vram does not stack up, thus the more GPU you have, the more vram you want on each GPU.

TRI-SLI of GTX470s will do well in 3DMark, but not likely in games, because when you need that much GPU power, you are likely to be using high AA under high resolution, which would require a large amount of dedicated vram.

At 1920x1200 i can use over 1Gb of vram on a few games, i would suggest going for the GTX580 SLi or 6950/6970 cross/tri fire if you're looking at 2560x1440 gaming

the thing is i can get another watercooled 470 for £160 to go with the other 2 as i love how quite my machine is and upgrading to 580's as i dont like ati (dont ask me why) lol

and 580's + waterblockers your talking at least £600 and i would be hard pushed to sell watercooled 470's tbh
