(title was initially autocorrected to "does anyone actually use courtesans"!)

First thing I do when I install w10 is turn cortana off. I am wondering if I am being a bit of a boring luddite?

Turn it straight off - I'd remove every last bit of it from my OS if I could.

However someone raised an interesting point about its usefulness in certain situations the other day which I could see the benefits of i.e. when hands free operation would be actually useful.

Depends on the device.

Surface / Windows Mobile then ocassionally - though I don't know why you need it to turn on quiet hours, etc. I'd say it's very comparable to how much I use Siri.

On a desktop I never use it.

Tried, didn't like, disabled. Even worse now Cortana is locked to Edge and Bing. Maybe once Cortana for Android becomes officially avaliable for the UK, I may give it a go, some features such as SMS from the desktop looks handy.

I do, of course not always but sometimes. I use the windows c shortcut for stuff like
- what will the weather be like tomorrow?
- remind me to put a parking permit in the car at 8pm today?
- when are Arsenal playing next?

(I think those were my last three uses)

Use it when driving sometimes. One double tap to wake screen and a jab at Cortana's pulsating ring - "call my wife" etc
