Does anyone else find it wierd when they change voice actors?

I've noticed some voice actors add an awful lot to a game. For example Sam Fisher of splinter cell being voiced by Michael Ironside sounded perfect for my imagination and it somewhat broke with blacklist when they changed the actor(for understandable reasons).

Or Solid Snake having a new voice actor.

Do you also find when they change the voice actor it ruins the game a little bit?

Obviously had blacklist been the first splinter cell I'd played I would be the none the wiser.

Sometimes it's a bit annoying, like Central Officer Bradford in XCOM 2

I know it's been 20 years and horrible stuff has happened, but it doesn't sound anything like him...

Solid Snake has always been David Hayter. Sutherland actually voices Venom Snake/Big Boss. I didn't actually find it that jarring as he doesn't have loads of dialogue anyway :D

Oops my bad I thought he was changed.

He was; David Hayter voiced Big Boss in MGS3 and Richard Doyle in MGS4. They should've kept Hayter for MGS5, although I doubt it'd have saved the storyline in any case considering how little dialogue there was from him.

It can be weird, such as Romano Orzari replacing Stephen Russell as Garret in Thief, or the swap between actors voicing Mordin Solus in Mass Effect... But there's usually a good reason.
Big name screen actors tend to be busy on other projects, or they just lose interest and want to do other things.

Yeah, I do find it a little bit weird when they change voice actors and always always prefer the original voices, even if the new actors do an alright job. Guess I just don't like the continuity/ familiarity of what I'm used to being broken.
