Does anyone else get this problem? - NFS Underground 2

Hi all

I'm having a problem in that after a race or a few races when loading it just hangs on the loading screen...
I have to do crtl alt del to end the game and then reload it and it works again for a game or two, but then the same problem happens all over again.
Can anyone help? I have NFS Underground 2 patch 1.2 and I'm running:

XP Mobile @ 2.4ghz
1gig ram
200gig hd
6800GT (std clock speeds) with 84.21 drivers installed
nf7-s rev 2

If anyone has any ideas please let me know as its driving me mental! I'm really getting into the game!! If I'm not explaining it well enough, please let me know...

With using the orignal CD I dont get this problem as such, but there is only one optical drive installed in the PC setup.

No hints?!

If your running with a no cd patch then this can happen otherwise if your using the original CD could be your drive is conflicting.

Do a web search as there are lots of easy solutions to this...

I'm sorry, but I just cant find anything that's of any help... Please can you point me in the right direction for this fix please?
