Does anyone else post and then immediately edit?

I do it if i notice any spelling mistakes. How come all your threads have the  emote next to them?

I'll mash F5 in case somebody quotes me, but after a couple of hours I'll stop doing that and go to sleep.

Oh, and edit out any typos to the limit of my ability, so I can lol at other people's in order to give myself a miserable sense of purpose.

I tend to write a post in the quick post box at the bottom, then delete it before posting because it often reads like a child has found some crayons.

I'll edit after I post quite a bit although I used to do it within the window where it doesn't show up as an edit (~2 minutes) and usually mark it as such by //edit. However as a Don there's no time limit to this editing function so I've always got to mark in where I edit if I want people to be aware it has changed at all.

More often than not, I'll start to write a reply and then just get bored with it or think that it's not worth getting into and just 'back' out of it.

I always do that. But i never do it to add text to catch someone out. I just edit it because i want to add more or say something else. This other forum i know if you have two replies in a row it auto combines them in to one reply.

Generally i do it correct spelling mistakes i notice after pushing the 'post' button, or posting an afterthought later on :)

I do that quite often, feels kinda like those answering machine/voicemail messages - you only realise afterwards how much of a moron you sound like but can't take it back :(

The edit function is a godsend for the morning after a heavy night though.

6:30am - wake up feeling like ****
*OMG* Did I post anything too personal or revealing last night whilst drunk?
*EEK - EDIT!*
And breathe...

I wonder what it's like if mods can view all of the edits of a post. Must be quite good fun seeing every post and how it's been edited since it was first submitted :D
