Seems like whatever the question is, the majority of the posts are antagonistic consisting nothing more than stereotype reinforcements and cliché's that border on the comical side of absurd.

If, however, it truly represents the general views of Britain then what a bitter, spiteful, intolerant and ignorant lot we have become.

Maybe I SHOULD move to Hawaaii

Wanna give examples of what you mean?

What should people be saying instead then? 'Oh yes multiculturalism is wonderful really, it works so well and isn't crap at all'?

Have you read it? He's right about the cliches - it often reads like chatting with a builder about philosophy.

It also works both ways. I remember when the Shilpa Spaghetti row was going on, a woman commented on how she had so much empathy for Shilpa because she had friends from Shilpa's background. *PAUSE* Is this woman saying that she has friends who are Bollywood superstars who also have servants or merely that a few of her friends a quite tanned?

I'm just trying to establish whether the OP's definition of a 'troll' is somebody who expresses opinions which differ from his own.

e.g.

Climate Change: To act or not?

What surprises me most of all is, on one hand many people are prepared to worship a 'god' they've never seen, based purely on faith with no evidence at all except that 'claimed' by religous organisations, and yet are so ready to question, and in many cases, contemptuously dismiss obvious climate change evidence and the potential destruction of Earth's ecological balance, because it may impinge on their 'lifestyle' choices, or profits.

The hypocrisy is breathtaking.

I never mentioned multiculturalism. Is that a personal bug bear of yours then or are you providing an example of the type of poster on Have your say?

Sounds reasonable to me!

At OP: any links to the trolling you have seen? (BTW I think the whole BBC is a wasted rip-off who are social Marxist engineers!)

e.g. 2

"For the umpteenth time - There is no proof that man made CO2 emissions are responsible for climate change!
Peter Howe"

True, but for the umpteenth time - There is a vast amount of *evidence* that man made CO2 emissions are *at least partly responsible* for climate change.

e.g. 3

Quick! Everybody panic!
Because we all know that the Earth is at the centre of the Universe, and Humankind is the most powerful and important thing on it, then we MUST be at fault! We must stop EVERYTHING that we are doing immediately, because only WE can save the planet from the destruction we ourselves have wrought!

Get a grip. Our planet wobbles, its orbit shifts, our sun changes temperature.

We are too insignificant to make much difference either way.

I agree with Mr Stone there. By the way, red on blue is bad mmkay.

Oh and I agree with the other two you just posted as well.

It's quite possible to agree with them, but they are presented in sensationalist and simplistic terms - hence are poor quality responses despite the potential validity of their content

Pick any "politics" or "religion" based thread.

Funny, I thought the official line on global warming was what is sensationalist.

As for being simplistic, I prefer to use the term concise, or succinct. Why say in a thousand words what you can say more clearly in a hundred.

My apologies if I did not interpret the above post as "Can you clarify your interpretation of a troll?"

Does multiculturalism really get on your nerves?
