Does anyone else use a bedroom fan?

Are you a vampire?

Nope, it makes a big difference to how much your room heats up during the day which in turn makes it easier to sleep at night, seriously if you suffer try it! I only do it for the bedroom the lounge etc all get opened as it doesn't matter if them get nice and toasty.

Same for leaving internal doors open, we all get conditioned to close them to keep the heat in or for privacy and the number of people who close the bedroom door and then moan about being to warm is ridiculous!

We've just bought a chrome Hunter Industrie II Fan , 52" with remote control. They are the Rolls Royce of ceiling fans but not cheap.

I'm struggling as well. I've got a desktop fan on both bedside tables, just circulating the same hot air around atm. Impossible to sleep when outdoor temps are 17C+.

Air con would be ideal for me because I've experienced them in cars and at work. Even though it's the 21st century now, why is effective cooling still so expensive compared to heating?

Just have a cheap freestanding fan here. I love having it on... the sound sends me right off when I'm having trouble sleeping, whether I'm too hot or not.

Unfortunately, the wife hates the sound and I have to listen to her whining when I want to turn it on. Which is NOT conducive to slumber. She'd rather open the windows, and thus listen to every screaming, yelling, foot stomping imbecile that routinely parades our street. So then I'm STILL too hot, and can't sleep because some jobless **** and his mates are getting drunk in the alley across the way.

Female logic.

why would you do this? why go back to a method of sleeping that's worse? I've slept with a fan on every night for the last ~10 years, with the exception of drunk nights round friends. It hasn't even crossed my mind to go back as i get much much better sleep.

Once you start there really is no going back.I have been sleeping with a fan on for about 15 years. It all started one hot summer with a desktop fan and eventually i ended up not being able to sleep without it.

I actually have two lol.I have a chrome bionaire desktop fan and the ceiling fan  Not only do they block out noise which is a GOD SEND with neighbours but its also really comfy.

The real problem is leaving home to go on holidays or sleeping elsewhere.I simply cannot get sleep without my fan.I have actually never been on holiday abroad but if i ever go i will have to pre arrange with the hotel to have a working bed side fan lol.It it also a requirement of any girlfriends that they too get used to the fan.If someone told me it was the fan or them i would choose the fan end of story.Infact i would actually like to sleep inside a wind tunnel.Thats how much i enjoy the sensation of cool air going over my face :D

Now I want the same but in Graphite.

Shame it doesn't have a light on though. Plus as you say, it is quite pricey!

Edit: you can get a light kit but it is an extra £170!

This is exactly the same with me, i cant sleep without a fan, i even have a fan noise app on my ipad for when i am at the in laws and they rather rudely do not supply me with a fan.

Before my fan it.would take me hours to sleep now i am asleep within 10 to 20 minutes, hardly enough time to dream.
