Does anyone have a Tamrom 90mm Macro?

I have one, must say its an ace bit of kit, focusing is fast. I'm certainly no pro but in don't regret getting it at all. I know it is a macro but you can get soo close to your intended victim :)
I'll dig out some pics for you.

cheers, would be appreciated :)

I just read a review of that lens in Digital Camera SLR Guide Magazine and it won Best Buy award.

Verdict read as follows :

With a Sturdy build and sensible design, this lens looks good. At about half the price of the lenses in this group, the optical quality and sheer usability of the Tamron comes as a very nice surprise.

Hope this may help.

The Tamron 90mm Macro lens is decent enough, optically it's on par with the Canon 100mm macro but extends during macro focusing so is harder to use.

The image below shows the Sigma 105mm, Tamron 90mm and Canon 100mm Macro lenses at their maximum magnification of 1:1

OT slightly, they have changed the Canon Macro. The one in the picture has its front element showing but the model I have (sorry the wife has :D ), the element is inset by at least an inch - which is very handy if you get too close to the subject and it is trying to lick the lens (darned cat! :) )

I have seen pictures taken with the old manual focus version of the Tamron SP 90 (not sure if it is dedicated macro or not but extension tubes are needed to get 1:1) and they are absolutely superb. I've been looking out for one on ebay but they are fairly rare.

Hi, I'm back
sorry for the delay, I've been having troubles with my new rig + broadband connection, which left me only with my suicidally slow laptop

anyway here are some pics
disclaimer : I haven't had it long or my 400D for that matter, so I'm posting them as great pics just snapped them @ gardeners wolrd - just a example of detail :D

thanks for them, are they the full image resized, any chance of seeing a crop of an image so i can see how sharp it is at 100% size?

Thanks :)

thanks for that, i'm stuck between the 105mm sigma and the 90mm tamron, can't stretch to the 150mm atm :(
