FujiFilm Finepix HS10 10MP (£210) and
Nikon P500 12.1MP (£233)
Bearing in mind that I am unlikely to be lugging a tripod the 30x zoom vs 36zoom may be superfluous. They both have 1/2.3" sensors and I reckon that 10mp may just be the limit for that sized sensor.
The updated Fujifilm Finepix HS20 is very similar to the HS10 bar a 16MP 1/2" sensor and reading reviews, this does not shoot at well as the older HS10.
Unless anyone can recommend something better for upto £260ish. Main requirements are decent lowlight and fast AF (for indoors and kids) and 1080p video. RAW not important nor does zoom need to be much higher than 20 if that makes a difference. Nice to have but as mentioned, without a tripod, of limited value unless balanced on a wall.
