Basically ive been living on my own in this 3 bed house since December when my missus left and took the kids with her.

Although im coping with the bills and being on my own its not leaving me with a great deal of spare cash every month. So ive been considering getting a lodger. Ive made a quick list of the good and bad points that i can see :

Good Points

Id only have to pay half the rent, council tax and utility bills

Bad Points

At least once a week i have my 4 kids so the lodger would have to put up with this.
Im a nightmare to live with and find it very hard to make friends with people
What if they dont pay thier share?

Im not sure its a good idea now :p

Well, surely you can't expect them to pay half the rent, if you're having your kids around once a week? And I presume you'll have the master bedroom, etc? It sounds like you're saying lodger, but really want a house share... with them only having the pros of being a lodger? If that makes any sense whatsoever .

I dont know thats why i was hoping for some advice :p

I think you need to ask for a set amount each month - I used to pay £350 per month in Surrey which included all bills and food. (Landlady's opinion that cooking for two is easier than two separate meals for one.)

So you can't realistically expect to half your bills, mortgage and council tax. :)
