Does anyone here still use a single core pc?

Ive still got a celeron 430 in my testing machine, but its not used for anything except component testing. Otherwise everything is dual or quad here :)

Hawker

The pc im using now and also use for games is a p4 630 3.00ghz with 1.5gb of ram and a 6800gt AGP!!!, still can play lots of games, though not some of the games that came out last year.

my laptop i still use for surfing the net and for work is a 1.6 centrio, does the job fine, nothing intensive at work either, simple web dev and programming

Anyone? or is Dual core the "lowest" out there?

I have 5 pcs

3 are single core

a single core A64 2800 i *think* it is in my storage PC
a single core A64 3200 @ 2.5ghz in my mame arcade pc
a knackered old P IV single core sony laptop, no idea of spec it just about works for wireless web surfing when playing on the xbox - good for gamefaqs.com ;)

(and an under vaulted X2 4200 in my media centre pc and my day old quad core 2500k currently stock in my games rig)

All Apples have single cores, even the new ones. Thats why PC's are better.

Apple Macs? New ones? Single cores? Get your facts right mate.

PCs are better in terms of price/hardware. In terms of software it's debatable based on the user's needs.

My friend is using a dual core Macbook right now that he bought 2 years ago.

However, I believe he is referring to the fruit and is thus correct. I have yet to see a mutant apple with more than one core.
