As above does anyone here use AGi32 from Lighting Analysts Inc?

I'm trying to spec a new computer for a friend who uses the software however i'm unsure what hardware requirements are needed. Specifically I would like to know how many CPU threads the software can use, and also how important Cuda is for the program. I would also like to know if there is any benefit of using Quadro card over a Geforce card.

I had in mind an i7 8700 along with 32GB Ram and a Geforce card, however it's very difficult for me to spec without knowing anything about the software.

Any help is much appreciated.

Many thanks

Jason

If the software can take advantage of many cores, the 2700 might be a better choice, it's got more cores/threads compared to the i7. Although if high clock speed is still important, the 8700's 4.3GHz all core boost might give it the edge.

As for CUDA it doesn't seem to support it, so any AMD/Nvidia card will do fine. Although searching around I can't really see which one is better, and if a workstation card actually provides benefits for AGi32...

Many thanks for the reply, I did see the hardware requirements on AGi's support page, I was more concerned how much AGi uses CUDA however it appears it makes little to no use of it.

The person i'm specing the computer for is in South Africa so they will likely have to buy an off the shelf, I get the impression they don't have many computer businesses in his area.

I'm thinking on the lines of i7 8700 (non K), then either 16GB or 32GB, and just any Geforce card. Again I don't know how important RAM is.
