Does anyone here use Firefox Portable?

Have to use this at work due to policies on our work machines, the issue is simply caused by a slow flash drive. Test the drive with Windows Readyboost, as a general rule if it works with Readyboost then it should be quick enough not to 'lag' with Portable Firefox.

I got fed up and went back to using an old 20GB external 2 1/2 inch laptop drive and will stick with that for now.

Tried to all the cache/spell checker off/on thing, it works fine for a little while then goes back to 'lagging'.

Sounds like your admins need to do what I do, disable USB storage devices through group policy.

If they don't want you using FF, it's for a reason

Our IT admins suck, they 'recently' upgraded to IE7 but left tabbed browsing switched off - when you use about 16 different systems, most of them web based its a tad annoying.

PortableApps is great. Never had a problem. Depends how many USB devices are being used, also.

FireFox Community Edition with the GPO Templates installed for the win.
