I'm pretty sure I heard about one of these sites that exist in real life. They have a weird initiation where you open an account on a computer forum and ask for weird stuff hoping to get weird responses.

Legend has it if you wait around long enough you might get a free chair...

Rumours, stories or things that are made up...sounds like most of the media.

This channel on Youtube covers a mixture of real events and myths and rumours. Not in the same video. Some of the videos are true crime, some are myths and rumours of paranormal stuff. An odd combination and they don't even split the two different types of videos by playlist, but it's easy enough to tell which is which.

Every civilisation has its own mythology, so you'd have to be more precise. But if you want general mythology, you could try

Mythology & Folklore on Stack Exchange
Encyclopedia Mythica
r/mythology on Reddit
or even 4chan's /x/ board - [it's 4chan so you have to know what to expect, but it can be informative at times]

There are more specific sites but if you want 'general' stuff those are good places to start.
