Hey guys.

I am looking at getting an off road go-kart and make it road legal. Can anyone tell me how to do this and what procedures I need to follow?

Does the off road kart need to have any type of certificate or anything before applying for it to be road worthy?

I really do not know where to start but would appreciate any web links or general information on this.

Cheers :) It's friday :D :D :D :D

are you planning to use it off road as well as on road? If not it may be easier for you to build yourself a new road kart and SVA it instead of trying to make an existing one road legal.

Think you may be in for a challenge!

I personally don't think it could be done without major structural work.

The SVA test requires all sorts of weird things like structurally strong seatbelt mounting points, a dashboard within a certain field of view of a driver, no exposed sharp edges (i.e. uncovered engines), lights have to be mounted in specific places....

Basically, I reckon too much work to be financially realistic really... :(

You should be able to get it through on a bike SVA I would have thought. Quads are registered as bikes AFAIK so a kart should be the same.
