Does anyone know if the bin men will talk an old computer and monitor?

why would they talk to it?

only if it fits in the bin, I doubt they will take it if it's separate. But it really depends where you are. As rubbish collection changes so much from one council to the next.

Around here they won't take it, we have to take them down to the local incinerator where they have a special container set aside for such junk.

Now talking to them is a different matter entirely!

Local (official) tip is the best place for it, having removed anything that's remotely usable!

IIRC There's also some charities that you can donate old PC's to...

They won't take it but if you hide the gear at the bottom of your wheely bin they won't notice. That or they will send the council inspectors to check up on your bin if they hear the monitor implode in the jaws of their dustcart...

The correct place is you local council tip.

Old computer? Stick it in the MM or ebay? You'll be surprised what people will buy/need?

I need to get rid of an old CRT as well, it's a lovely iiyama pro 450 and apparently quite easy to fix for those in the know, pity it's just sitting in my room.

No, they shouldn't do. You'll have to take it to your local recycling centre or tip.
