I ask this because ive been browsing through the Autotrader and ive found out that u can get BMW M3s for less then what i can get 318is here

Would there be many extra fees for importing a car from the UK to Australia?
Does anyone know of the german prices of M3s and cars like that?
Oh how i would love to live in the UK

I think we drive on the same side.
The steering wheel is on the Right hand side of the car so i think that must mean we drive on the left. That always confuses me
If i did import one the speedo will have to be converted because we have the metric system inplace down here

Are you comparing like with like here becuase I doubt you are - I can show you 318's in the UK that are more expensive than M3's but they wont be the same age/shape

Nah im compearing the same year and shape M3s to 318s

And to who ever said wouldnt it be better to get a home made holden. Well ive hated holdens since i was young. The older holdens have what u call chavs driving them in abundence these days

I would much rather a german car then anything australia can put out

the last time i checked the cheapest place to order a new RHD european spec car was Portugal....although the most popular place to do this is Holland as pretty much everyone is fluent in english so the process is just so much easier.

Thank you very much for telling me about holland and portugal. Ill start looking for places from there now

or find a RHD car stuck somewhere in europe.

I live in the czech republic so i normally buy a LHD car in the uk and drive it over here. I normally save around 30%

Im finding extreemly good savings from Europe. Ive never seen so many preseige cars for so cheap
I hope tax doesnt kill the price.

you need to find out/know the differences between a cold european country BMW and a hot weather one, we do not have temps over 30 Celcius as a rule and do not have sand storms
I'm sure you could import a Jap. car for much less than a european one with them being so much closer to you,also it would be RHD and metric.Do look into the rules and regulations about importing cars into Aus. as the tax man always wants his slice

The tax man is an evil thing, ive got pages of regulations and rules to read about it all
What do u mean about the cold country BMW and Hot country? I didnt think they made cars like that

I'll bet the air con is uprated for Aus.
They also alter the suspension settings for different countries,Japan has v.smooth roads and so are not ideal for the UK's potholes

Ahh potholes, what a pain in the arse, we have them over here to but im not sure if they are as bad as yours. I dont know what suspension it would need
