Hi,

I'm trying to get info on my MB to see what (if any) overclocking can be performed but so far I've had no joy.

CPU Z shows the following info:

Giga-byte GA-8I915PM-FS
Chipset: Intel i915P/i915G
Southbridge: 82801FB(ICH6)

It's in a Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo P machine but I can't find anything about it. The Giga-Byte website has a listing for GA-8I915P-MF which looks the same in the pic.

Does anyone know anything about these boards as there doesn't seem to be many options in the BIOS Frequency/Voltage control section. I can change mem frequency between 1.66 / 2.00 / 2.66 and but thats it.

Any info will be greatfully recieved.

Cheers

Hi, sorry but you'll get little (if any) overclocking performance from a motherboard in a branded PC - it's purely designed to do the job of running at stock speeds and not much else, so you simply won't have access to tweakable settings that are essential to overclocking. Intel 915-based boards tend to be very basic entry-level affairs anyhow.

Big brand PC retailers cut corners wherever possible and the motherboard is often the biggest saver for them - build yourself a decent custom system for overclocking, if you need advice on specs this is the forum to ask!!! :)
