Hi guys,

I recently bought a Lian Li PC-P50 Armoursuit case and a Foxconn BlackOps X48 motherboard along with some other parts (including the wrong type of ram :rolleyes:, thankfully overclockers will allow me to return it).

The problem I have is the Power LED plug on the case is a 3 hole plug wired as so;

[POS][empty][NEG]

However the pins on my new motherboard only has 2 pins available for the power LED so at the moment I can't wire it up. The simplest option I think would be to pull one of the wires out and move it across one hole however I've never done this before and I'm not sure how to go about it.

I've had a quick tug at the wire but it's fixed firmly in place, I've also a had a quick hunt around Google but I've really found anything that useful. I would appreciate any help you guys could give.

Either:
cut the plug down the middle, wire cutters are ideal.
Or on the side of the plug you will see a small gold colour inside the plug, this is the clip part. Be careful, and use a sharp knife (Like a stanley/utility/snap-off knife to gently poke this in the direction of the wire. The aim is to lit up the black plastic part of the clip while sliding the connnection out of the top.

Thank you for all your feedback but I managed to sort it out myself in the end using the method out lined by PhillyDee. When I examined the plug (in better light) I saw the metal element was being held in by a plastic clip. I got the smallest flat angle screw drive I could find and managed to lever the plastic up just enough to release the metal connection and plug into the middle hole.

The LED works fine now (a nice cool blue colour), I would advise for anyone who reeds this in the future NOT to use a stanley knife simply because of the amount harm they can potentially do if you slip.
