Does anyone know what this car is?

Cheers, thats a bit pricey for what looks like an old banger, i reckon a nice one is gunna cost a bomb!!

Has a pinto though, they rattle windows loose when cruising past

It says it has an electric ignition, that leads me to believe you get ones without, so how do you start em?

Couple of guys at work have a fetish for old fords and are always turning up in "old bangers".

Latest two are a blue cortina and a capri, look quite smart and lots of fun :)

Older cars use a system of contacts in the distributor to time the spark plug firing, an electronic version just uses a microprocessors.

The mk3 came in 1.6/2.0 pinto and a 3.0 essex or was I dreaming the last one?

Have a look on wikipedia if you want to learn more about ignition.

A little off topic here, but did anyone else take the "Would you survive in the 70's quiz" on there?

The results said I'd fit right in in 1973. (duh)
