Does anyone know what this solder connection is for?

This is on an Intel atom board, previous owner has soldered a cable between the 20pin and 4pin.

It'll either be ground or 12V pins that are soldered together I would think given you only get them on the 4pin connector, probably a 12V though. Why? No idea, maybe his PSU was missing a pin or something in one of the connectors.

How does it look in the sockets? Maybe there's a pin missing in them.

There's pins in all the sockets, the previous person was using a PSU that I can only describe as a strip with a 20pin port on it. Something out of a laptop or a mini-itx maybe?

My ITX case has an external power brick that supplies what I assume is 12V DC to a an internal circuit board where the ATX, molex and SATA power connectors all plug into.
