Been looking for one but have only come across US sellers. Some K&N GenII kits come with them but I'm looking at getting one on its own.

Thanks

So your effectively looking for a sealed intake? Or a Heatsheild

Not too familiar with K&N but I work for Pipercross and we don't manufacture anything of the sort if your after something to add to a standard cone to make it a sealed intake.

If its a heatshield your after then I'm assuming your looking for one to go alongside a K&N kit? if you are give POTN a call they may be able to sort something out for you.

Hi guys,

its a water resistant bag that just fits over the cone. Looks like this

Also know as pre-filters i think.

Looks like it will just reduce airflow to me, if you could get them in the UK cheaply I'd buy one and flow test it at work to confirm.

Any particular reason why you need one?

Retro fitting an engine with limited space, so may have to relocate the filters current position. Looks like it may need to go lower, increasing risk of puddles etc.. looking at giving "slight" extra protection.

Although it would be more a more costly excercise I'd advise buying a sealed intake such as Pipercross Viper/Venom or K&N Apollo and locating the CAI somewhere out the way of any water intake.

The Venom although cheaper than the Viper and less aesthetically pleasing is a better performing filter and is confirmed to flow enough for 400bhp, can't remember the figures for a Viper off the top of my head and K&N claim 250bhp for a NASP engine or 350bhp boosted for the Apollo.

K&N Apollo is £121.90 direct from K&N and The Pipercross Venom (VM7000) is £109.27 from Demon Tweeks

cant you make a shield like the ones you get with the k&n kit?

After some googling I think I've found what you was looking for, although personally I would go for a sealed intake for maximum protection.

oh no, thats definately not what you want shielded from an air filter. i rather suspect that air being sucked in would just be sucked around the filter :D
