hi guys im contemplating buying vista , i play a lot of games on my xp pc now such as pro evo soccer 6 and stalker shadow of chernobyl . does anyone know if many recent pc games are compatible with windows vista ?

Do they work WELL with vista. i.e. are they optimized ? is there some kind of benefit?(for current dx9 and earlier games)

All my games work fine with Vista here, except for TR1 :rolleyes:

By now drivers are also quite good, better performance with Vista than i've had with XP

Everything that I have tried has worked with vista, with the exception of Medieval total war (The first one), even got theme hospital to work which was pleasantly surprising.

If you're worried about compatibility issues you could dual boot vista/xp to make sure everything works fine.

Yeah that's the one game I've had problems with. It's to do with the copy protection. Funnily enough copy protection that is easily bypassed yet prevents legitimate users from playing it on Vista.

Maybe he justs wants the new features Vista has? I think vista is an improvement over XP, even though there was nothing wrong with XP.

Is there a workaround for fahrenheit psyk? Its annoying me that i cant play the thing.

Everything is fine here, and it runs the same as XP now that the drivers are improving.
