Does anyone recognise this fish?

Hi - My friends in China have recently acquired this fish. They don't know what it is, but it seems much too large for their tank.

If I can find out what sort of fish it is, I shall give them some reccommendations.

Any ideas what it might be? He's pretty viscious, whatever he is.

Id say he was a jewel cichlid, a large one at that.

Not a jewel, slightly large for a jewel and doesn't have the head shape. 99% it's a flowerhorn which are easy to look after but you would need a bigger tank and they can be aggressive.
