Does anyone regret buying MacBook?

I was in the same boat, deciding between the Macbook and Macbook Pro.

In the end went for the 13" Pro non-touch bar. Yes it's bigger, thicker and heavier but it's still crazy compact. When side by side next to my mum's and partner's laptops, it looks tiny in comparison.

I also preferred the newer gen keyboard.

It has a fan? could have fooled me as I've never heard it at all!

I really like my 2015 m5/512GB MacBook. It's the first laptop I've ever owned that's small and light enough for me to take it with me when I go away for a couple of days, and only want to take a single bag. Yes, it was expensive, but compared to the XPS 13 9350 I had previously (which isn't exactly a beast of burden), it's so much more portable. The lack of ports has not troubled me, as the trackpad is good enough that I haven't felt compelled to use a mouse with it.

As others have said, it would be tedious to use as your primary system as it's no powerhouse, but for something you can throw in your bag and not notice that you're carrying it, it's very impressive. It's my first Mac, so I can't compare it to the MacBook Pro or Air, especially when it comes to the keyboard, which seems to be quite divisive. I have happily spent a few hours replying to emails on it while on the train, which again is something I would never have done with the XPS.

I still really rate the MacBook Air. Yes, the screen is a bit low-res these days but it's perfectly useable and if you spec the i7 version it's a proper number cruncher.

I looked very closely at the Air but as soon as I sat the two laptops next to each other, the screen was the clincher. It was dreadful compared to the retina displays.

Absolutely, it's all about the compromise. On the Air you get all the processing power of a much more expensive MacBook Pro and you get the portability and battery life of the MacBook. The compromise is you don't get a retina screen. For me, I don't need tiny writing (with my old eyes the low resolution is actually easier to read) and for what I want (portable power) the Air is still my go-to model.

you don't need to compromise with the MacBook Pro - the current model is both powerful and very compact too (same weight as the MacBook Air) so easy to travel with...

in fact the pro is smaller than the air, much more powerful and has a nicer screen - the main reason to buy the air would simply be a lack of cash IMHO:
