Does anyone still use an alarm clock?

I had a radio one once and I was forever getting deja vu concerning the news where'd I'd been listening to it in my sleep without knowing lol

Used to use an alarm clock but it was one of those ones that syncs with a radio signal and it would randomly get the time wrong...

Now I use 2 mobiles phones - coz I'm paranoid of one failing lol. Tempted to try one of those daylight ones tho as I find dull winter morning very hard to wake up.

mobile phone.. 6 alarms if i need to be up at 7am ill set it from 6.45 every 5 mins till 7.15... one alarm doesn't get me up..

I use an alarm clock from '94 (They don't make 'em like they used to!) with the radio, and also my mobile has about 4 alarms to make sure I get up.

My alarm clock must be like 14-15 years old and still working fine. Quite sturdy since it's been soaked by rain a few times when I've had my window open. I had to buy another set to a later time because I started hitting the button to turn the alarm off and ending up getting up too late.

Aftet a few years in the services my body now wakes me up a few minutes before the alarm. Although it's a nice feeling to listen to the radio for a few minutes, just to quietly start the day before the kids start.

Generally just set 5 or so alarms on my phone, a few minutes apart with different tones for each of them :p I do wish I still had my old battery powered one though, hammer against metal bells sort.

Had some epic ones in the past. My Dad brought me back a great mosque one when I was younger - the distorted prayer call sound was bad enough, but the snooze button was between two extremely pointy minarets, and hitting either of those was guaranteed to wake me up sharpish (hoho). Got given another in China which was just that damn annoying, if I didn't wake up, my flatmate was sure to come in and scream at me til I turned it off. My birthday card that year even says "Dear Phil, please get a new alarm clock".

My main problem has always been what to do when staying in hostel dorms. I don't want to wake everyone up at some stupid time when I have to go catch a train or such, but don't trust myself to sleep with headphones in to use them, or to wake up and switch it off before everyone else if I set the alarm normally. This goes some way to explaining why I've missed so many buses, trains and flights in the last few years...

I use my mobile and like others set several to go off as I will never get up on the first.

TuneIn Radio app for android actually has an alarm feature which is quite nice.

I considered getting one of those day light ones but don't know if I can justify the cost if its useless.

I used to have a Sony Dream Machine with a iPhone Dock but it kept on crashing so I returned it. I use my iPad or iPhone these days for the alarm ;)

I still my old alarm clock despite having the facility on my phone.
I find the setting of the alarm each night, is the alarm for me, 99 times out of 100 I wake up just before the alarm goes off.
It's like setting the alarm in your head.

I dunno if that is fortunate. I think you subconsciously knew it was your day off.
You're probably right. If it had been a work day I probably would've woken up in the nick of time.

I used to get that with my old radio alarm clock. A terrible way to start the day.

Back in the days when I had more than one alarm clock I found it was counter productive.

At one point I had 3, and because I had 3 I ignored the first two. What happens when 1 of the three of them doesn't go off? I sleep in.

These days I have just the one on my phone, and I'm much better off with one alarm.
