Tempted to be rid of some bits over the weekend towards an xb1, cex prices arent actually that bad, Game is worse but apparently will match the trade in if shown proof of the prices given.

I have a wii u to trade but the problem is our kitten nibbled the main game pad controller cable when we first got him :/. Works fine but i imagine they wont take the system maybe as a safety issue? And cant find an official replacement?

The price they gave for my wii u and the bits i have is actually more than i thought to get privately so thats ok but just worried they will turn it away.

Otherwise ill just buy it outright on john lewis but thought if i could trade stuff i dont use it would "seem" better ;)

Game will match the price and beat it buy £1 (per item), i believe you can buy the charger cables on ebay. Why not just put it on mm?

Ive tried before i think and didnt get far, plus as above the cex price all togeather is better than i was getting offered before, plus no sending packaging it up etc just seemed it may be easier? Theres a load of chargers on ebay but they arent the official ones and think it would need to be, may ring them and ask about the cable issue

as above, the cex price actually seems better than what i was getting offered privately, less the hassle of sending and packaging it :)

but with my cable issue i doubt ill have any luck

Well game rarely have the same price trade in value wise as CeX
But my local game is directly opposite a cex, so there is no issue with game price matching

back to your wiiu, if its a cable that can be replaced - micro usb etc, just buy another one for the sake of a couple of quid

When I got my Xbox One, I put all my Xbox 360 stuff on here and AVF. Anything I had left I priced up on the CEX website, took a screenshot, asked Game to match those prices. They did, without hassle. I got quite a bit for what was essentially unsaleable junk (various accessories, many of the damaged, a bunch if games that nobody wanted, etc.) and used the credit to pick up a couple of games and a headset.

In total I think I got something like £200 between sales and trade-in's. That's the way to go IMHO - try selling your gear, allow splits, trade-in anything you have left. The 'unsaleable junk' I had left got me £80 of in-store credit (up from around £40 if I didn't get them to price match).

Biggest mistake people make when selling consoles is they specify 'no splits' on a massive bundle. Either nobody buys it, or you get cheeky offers because you're forcing the buyer to pay for stuff they don't want.

Last time I went to Game a few months ago to trade in my lads games they price matched CEX's trade in price. Considerably more than the cash price they offered.

yea i would do but its not as simple as that, its the main charger for the big screen gamepad and has a power block on it. its also one unit so cant just by one part of it. nintendos site has the for £40 i think :/, would imagine it would need to be the official one

did ring game this afternoon and if its showing bare wire they cant take it (fair enough) so i think i shall just leave it for now, watched a live stream of halo and has put me off a bit anyway :O

thanks for the advice above

I post mine off to gamexchange for store credit. Probably not the most economical way of doing it but it's so easy. They pay postage for you if you are sending 4 or 5 IIRC

Well I had some CEX vouchers lying around so I ordered a PS4 controller. There was nothing regarding grades so I assumed that the item was brand new, especially for £50. I know it can be bought much cheaper from places like Amazon but I just wanted to get rid of the vouchers.

Anyway, it shows up in a non descript box and was completely filthy, not to mention worn out. I sent off a complaint as soon as I opened the box, what a total ******* joke!

Yea dont think i would buy from them, but was going to use them to price match to game! Its not clear on cex website if the items are new or not so maybe they only sell 2nd hand?

I wouldn't be in a rush to get rid of a Wii U for a XBONE, the Wii U certainly as enough good games to earn it's place under the TV. Both are good consoles neither being better than the other, I'd try and save up for a XBone.

After watching videos of Halo 5 I've decided to hold off till it's sub £25, didn't think it looked as good as Killzone on PS4.

I can't get my head round Cex, the one near me only ever seems to buy stuff, almost everything they sell can be had cheaper and brand new elsewhere.never see anyone buying anything!
