Does anyone use 'Docky' here?

Ok im pretty new to Ubuntu, installed it yesterday and just been playing around really on my laptop.

Just installed docky but then ive realised that it doesnt replace the bar at the left of the screen. So I now have 2 task bars :confused:

Any advice for a noob on working Ubuntu and making it better/things worth installing.

Great thanks for the feedback! Ill give that a go now and see how I do.

Edit:

There doesn't seem to be an option to change to Gnome on the logout screen, all I can switch between is ubuntu, safe mode, Classic, Classic (no effects).

Not too sure?

So if I use classic then I can get rid of the side bar?

This is going to take a while to get used to but Ill need to learn it.

edit: classic view....now what?

So would you say it would be worth moving back to unity to get to know and use that?

Im on a computing course atm but looking to go into computer security so need to step up my game learning a *nix system.

Ok! Well now I know how to use/switch the different types of interface I can change as I require it.
