Anyone that has used gmail, will spew each time they have to use hotmail (I do)

I use both personally... Hotmail has improved a lot in the past few years (mostly to catch up with google/yahoo I guess).

Yeah, you have. The invites sometimes take a little while to go through though. Longest delay was about a day, shortest was instantly

google wave is the biggest fail on the net

cool in principle, but the invite system is a sure fire way for the concept to fall on it's ass

That's because it is far from ready to be released, it's still fairly buggy.

I think some of you are missing the point, Wave is open source and anybody who wishes to set up a wave system are welcome to do so. So once we are out of this beta (or whatever it is) it should pick up pretty fast. From what I have seen so far I would be happy for this to replace email, because in it's most basic form it's still easier, quicker and much more 21st century than email is.

Indeed Lyon I was initially very underwhelmed by it but it's actually starting to become more and more useful. I've already done a few bits of work using it that have just flowed so much more nicely than when using email/forums/etc to try and collaborate.
