Does anyones hardware/gpu seem to need to 'warm up' ?

I've just noticed this recently, i've got a 120hz monitor now so i've toned down a few of the settings on BF3 to achieve a average 120fps.

Now for the first 5 minutes of a game it feels quite choppy, the fps counter still states it's over 120 but it feels like i'm almost lagging, the ping is fine so I don't think it's the connection.

After around 5 minutes it's smooth as silk and runs perfectly, it's almost like my 670 is needing to warm up before it can be bothered.

Is this normal and does anyone else have this?

Just tried blops and it's fine from the start, must just be something my pc doesn't like with BF3 to start with.

I also have a 120hz monitor and an overclocked 7970' and also noticed when I join a game in BF3 even with a high Fps when I start it seems laggy/choppy then goes but it's for seconds.

Sounds more like a hdd issue to me

Probably more down to net connection tbh, black ops is one of the most buggy games ever. I play bf3 regularly, loaded of an ssd. Play it with the spec in sig, first 30 seconds or so in game can be a bit jerky, after that its fine. I played blops on a 4.2ghz i7 920 with sli gtx 470's, probably the worst coded fps game ive ever played.

It's the only game it happens with for me, perfect after a few minutes.

No other games that I have are affected,like you say
couple of mins then runs perfect

Maybe BF3 launches before it is 100% loaded?
