Does Apple UK do Back To School Promo?

Hey guys,
Gonna get a Macbook very soon,was talking to my cousin last night(she lives in USA) and she said in America Apple does a Back To School promotion where they give you an ipod(nano or shuffle) or something when you buy a Mac. Just wondering does Apple UK do this if so when do they start this promotion?

Apple doesn't run this promotion in the UK.

They usually do this before any new iPods come out (get rid of stock) so I wouldn't worry too much as it's going to be out of date by the time you get it.
 
Didn't Apple do the promotion last year?

I think they have a 'buy a Mac and get a printer half price' offer at the moment, or did I imagine it?
 
Send money to your cousin and get her to buy it then post it to you (putting on the box that it's a gift). That way you will save loads of monies (apple uk will still support it anyway).
 
Really?Thats a bit cack guess no point of waiting for that as I got a printer why can't they give me a iPod Shuffle or at least a mighty mouse! :p

I have asked that already but she said she can't be bothered with the hassle of buying it and sending it to me.:rolleyes:
 
At the saving you're looking to make you could probably afford to make it worth her while...

elcheapo ibook in US £450 ($899 ($100 student discount)) + free ipod

Thats £200 saving + a free ipod.

At £300 for a return to New York it's nearly worth giving yourself a weekend away and getting it yourself!

will they accept it because your a uk student though?
 
Jesta has a relative in the US - he could take her in store with him. Whether or not US stores will accept UK student cards I don't know (probably best to phone and ask), but I'd presume so - if you're a student you're a student.
 
Apparently the Back to school UK promo is happning early/mid sept, this is from macrumor forums anyway. It will probably be a rebate for one fo the old ipods, since apple is rumored to be releasing new ones soon, so they can get rid of any old stock with the promo.

Have they specifically mentioned the UK?

It would be nice, but I've only ever seen the printer promos :o
 
I'll be getting a MacBook anyway, but it'll be nice to get something free in addition to my whopping HE discount :p
