Does Asus Still Hide BIOS Batteries?

I have an ageing X299 based system and am beginning to consider upgrading at some point, I do like Asus boards. My current BIOS battery is getting to the stage where it needs replacing, annoyingly my Asus Prime x299 Strix E II has a hidden battery, the MB needs removing and taking apart to do so. I just found an insulated battery with wires and a suitable connector so I can plug that in and secure the battery, it's an easier solution than complete disassembly. Does Asus still hide the CMOS under plastic covers on the latest boards? It could be a factor in my choice of manufacturer in the future.

In some respects I am loathe to upgrade at the moment as DDR4 on this board is incredibly fast due to using 4 sticks of RAM rather than the usual 2. It's my 10980XE that is really showing its age now in single core performance, that and the PCIe being Gen 3.

Depends on which board you go for, some are easily on show usually between the pci-e slots, generally they've moved away from the plastic shroud covering everything look.

My B650-E Asus board has an easily accessible CR2032 bios battery. I say easily accessible, when I tried to get it out the other day the clip was holding it in so tight I decided not to bother (Wanted to do a full bios reset without the battery to ensure it was properly cleared).
