Seems like 2005/2006 was the apex of case design most cases today look so boring and square.

If Antec tried they could not make it look more boring:

They still make cases, or at least there are cases by Asus still in supply, but they are more budget orientated. If they could up their game and make cases which are actually appealing in today's market they could do well, as their brand is strong enough to carry a new line of gaming chassis' with the right marketing.

It would actually be nice to see them step in and give the big boys a run for their money.

I've got the Asus vento (latest one i think)

Crappest case i've ever dealt with in my life, and i've dealt with some Dell cases!

pfft the Asus Vento series was epic.

They looked really futuristic.

I would buy one right now if there were still in production.

Most of today's gaming cases look like they belong in an office doing excel spreadsheets.

By epic i'm assuming you mean epicly bad, those cases are hideous!

Tastes change, most people have moved on from the 'look at me' cases and prefer something a little more subtle, so that's what the manufacturers are making. There's still a few, err, uniquely styled cases around though.

And yes they do make cases, but they're all cheap generic low end stuff.

more like Epicly good

Their cheap stuff was horrific. The last one I had the displeasure of working with was a couple of years ago. Tinny, thin, sharp edged rubbish. For the sake of a couple of quid (if that) Cooler Master has them licked. Their exotic stuff just looks horrific, but each to their own

No, it was a boxy looking normal piece of ****.

Nothing exquisite like ones in the op. looked like the Antec.

I build the computer once and thats it. So it doesnt matter if it isnt as convient as other cases. But I look at it everyday and I dont want to see a square box.
These old cases had souls, they felt unique and looked stunning.

Me too. But I like cases that fit in with everything else. FWIW I fixed an Asus Predator system for a friend and thought there was a lot of thought put into the case. Like I said, each to their own. Couldn't help but think it was screaming "Just like an Alienware" at me though, only not as good. Their cheap cases were just dung though. Tinny, thin cases look cheap and usually sound cheap too

For real?

Dude. Plastic freaking city. Not to mention you'd probably dice your hand working inside that damn ugly ass green POS.

Reminds me of an old Demonite PC I had. I thought it looked cool when I was 13. When I tried to change parts inside I left enough blood to be donated to people involved in a motorway pile-up.

I'll take my boring, boxy, square, black, metal Corsair Obsidian/Akasa Eclipse any day of the week and have it run a Pepsi Challenge with that Fisher Price rubbish. ;)

You guys have no taste :p

My computer is the one thing I would want to stand out since it would be the premier piece of electronics I own.

...ancient Apple G3 *****...

I bet its because of people like you that such curvy cases have all but died out and were stuck with the square boring industrial looking ones today

Holy 1990s, Batman!

You ever owned one of those? They're utter crap. The plastic is so brittle it's unbelievable! At least Apple are sensible enough to make their gear out of milled aluminium these days...
