Hi,
I'm about to order the Devils Canyon i5: http://ark.intel.com/products/80811
If you scroll down a bit, you get this:
Memory Specifications
Max Memory Size (dependent on memory type) 32 GB
Memory Types DDR3-1333/1600
# of Memory Channels 2
Max Memory Bandwidth 25.6 GB/s
ECC Memory Supported ‡ No
The bit in red is what I'm wondering about. Does that mean this processor can't support ram at higher speeds? Seems a bit slow to me given this is the best i5 available. (I think?) I presume faster ram will just run at 1600Mhz?
I looked at the memory faq but it's a bit outdated to say the least
