Hi guys does anyone know if daemon tools works with win 7 please.A friend of mine uses it with his win 7 but his games constantly crash so i wonder if anyone else here has had or is having similar problems.

even if it does, ditch it and use Virtual Clonedrive

better software, they make it all themselves (don't rely on a 3rd party for their driver), and they don't bundle spyware in with it.

win/win/win

daemon tools works fine on Win 7 64 Ultimate, but you need to load the 64bit SCSI driver first and then ignore the warning message that comes up when you try to install

Thanks for the tip of Virtual Clonedrive. I didn't realise that there was an alternative to DT, although it works fine in Win7 for me, I'm not too happy with all the bundled ****

I use PowerISO on my system and that runs fine. I think DaemonTools had issues with Windows 7 during the beta, that's why I switched to PowerISO.

On bledds advise some time ago, I went from Daemontoold to Virtual Clone Drive and its been near as dammit to perfect.

I like Daemon on 32Bit XP or 2K for its ability to mount an ISO directly and for that I love Daemon, but other than that...

So you can afford to pay for a high spec pc, but not for software?

cool bro

Yeah, this again, I was pointed out to me... I am in a lucky position of having a number of PCs and yet all of them bar one, was using hookie copies of Windows.
It was pointed out to me, that every 5 minutes, I am throwing a small fortune at my PCs and yet none have a legal copy of windows, and thats one of the cheapest parts of the PC and by far the one thing that will outlive the whole thing.

I have since legalised my PC collection.

This is also made even more ridiculous by the fact that the games that I play on teh lan with my kids, have all been bought multiple times but not the O/S !

I got that before I had any money bledd. I'm not overly proud of it really =( I am currently in the process of legalising my whole PC. Damn expensive. Changing to Virtual CloneDrive as I type this.

What do you mean 'directly' mate?

On double click? VCD does this too..

I was just about to tell you that you are wrong, but I opened an ISO "With" and VCD was in the list... I never saw this before?

Or maybe when I first tried VCD, I had my ISOs open up with Nero or UltraISO perhaps and I just assumed...

Wrongly it seems!

Nope, I take it back, VCD does everythign that Daemon does, but tidier, Smaller, Faster... just Better!

And in Vista64 too!
