Hi everyone,

I've just been reading the odd rumour on the internet that OCZ memory and ASUS main boards cause issues when used together. I was just wondering if there was any truth in this? just that i'm looking to upgrade my memory.

Thanks in advance :)

I'm running 4gb of OCZ memory in my ASUS P5Q Deluxe. It also ran fine in my old ASUS X38 Maximus Formula.

4x1gb of OCZ SLI 8500 modules in my P5Q Deluxe...clock very well too. Ran just as well in my P5E X38

Asus motherboards, up to this point have a reputation for being fussy with memory. I could only get Corsair Value to work in an A8N32-SLI Deluxe.

Haven't tried too hard yet, but can't get my 8500 tracer to run over 800hz on the P5Q deluxe. They used to run at 1000+ no problem on my old MSI P35 at 2.1v. I notice on the extreme systems forum that there seems to be a general consensus that this mobo can be tricky to set up memory. Any particular settings you use that help?

What BIOS are you running? I'm can run my OCZ at over 1000mhz in my P5Q Deluxe without needing to adjust anything other than the vdimm.

Running the 1102 beta, which seems to get good reviews. Every time I try to run at 800+ it will either bsod or only load windows so far and black screen. I remember the MSI wouldn't run at above 900+ until a bios revision.

I've got 2x2gb of OCZ Reaper 8500C5 ram in my Asus Rampage Formula and it's fine.

However, Vista is only reporting my memory as 5.6, so I may have to adjust the timings?

Using OCZ 2x2GB Platinum 8500 in an P5k Vanilla. No issues with RAM, happily running at 1066ish at 2.1v, HOWEVER board wont even post if I try to get over 1125ish, or if I turn RAM juice past 2.3v
