Does ECO mode on Marantz limit dynamic range?

Hi Experts,

Noticed my Marantz SR7010 was set to auto mode for ECO which saves power based on the volume according to the manual. Music in pure mode sounds brilliant with eco on auto. When I realized and turned it off I gotta say it sounds flipping amazing (to me anyway), even at lower levels. I was wondering if the ECO mode save power by cutting the dynamic range, thats why it sounds better off. If not, how does it work?

if its anything like my Denon 7200 - I find no difference between ECO on Auto or Off

there should be no difference as it will scale/turn-off if you get to volume/dynamics that ECO would effect the SQ

there would be a difference if you forced ECO to On permanently
