I have a BenQ 1440p Freesync monitor and been thinking to get a ref RX480 now and get another one when price drop and CF them.

Does Freesync fully eliminate CF microshutter?

Highly doubt it-not used it, but the state of mgpu in the first place-I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole being an ex CrossFire user as game support is terrible now no matter the vendor even if they have their name on the title.

My only experience with this is Witcher 3, 290 crossfire - no it doesn't. I was playing Witcher 3 with 1 of my cards disabled because the micro stutter sucked, I then bought a 144hz 1440p freesync monitor and it while it was smoother, the micro stutters were still there.

Crossfires terrible, you get flickering textures, stuttering, this that and the other, my 2nd card is disabled, and has been for nigh on a year, its crap.

The reason I'm not moving to Pascal is because I'm concerned that once Volta turns up if it has stuff like hardware a-sync support Nvidia could suddenly start pushing games they help develop to use it so there Volta range shines in comparison to Pascal making people feel the need to upgrade AGAIN. If Pascal had the support I'd probably move to it but as I'm already on hardware that has the support I'm not moving to something that does not. And before the usual suspects jump on my post claiming it does, Last time you did I asked for sources and you ignored the request so without them don't waste your time.

Not in my experience, i found moving from vsync to freesync added microstutter.

The smoothest experience for me with crossfire always came with a locked FPS and vsync, but the downside is the input lag and the fact that you have to drop settings to keep a solid fps. Maybe it varies from monitor to monitor though.
