Hi All,

I have a few Noob Questions regarding my first build and OC

First off my system and settings

E2180 using OCZ Vendetta
GA-P31-DS3L
2x1gb Corsair PC6400 4-4-4-12

Running Ubuntu 8.04 so limited for OC testing software :(

Currently running E2180 at 333x9 = 3ghz

Manual voltages
RAM +0.3v (as per Corsair reccomendation for 4-4-4-12)
PCIe Normal
FSB +0.1v
GMCH +0.1v
GTLREF Default 0.63xxxx
CPU 1.45v

Question 1 In theory is 333x9 better than 300x10 overall due to having a higher FSB and CPU Clock:RAM? or is 3ghz always 3ghz?

Question 2 What is GTLREF voltage control ratio? Its not shown in the mobo manual as a choice, but its there in my BIOS, it
is set at the default and the other choices are lower values.

Question 3 Are these voltage settings okay, I know the CPU one will vary from chip to chip but do I need to apply over-volting to FSB & GMCH for this level OC?

Thanks :)

I did a few tests and found that a lower fsb/higher multi combination was faster by a miniscule degree, mainly owing to the tigher RAM timings I could use.
Also, as said by others, lower fsb=lower stress.
