As above,I just ran the Intel driver update tool on a system using the i5 2500k cpu and it failed to find any hardware.

Would that be because the cpu is end of life for Intel now or could it be a sign the mobo or cpu is on the way out?

Thanks.

What? You don't need drivers for your CPU.

Are you looking for Motherboard drivers? If so that will be down to your motherboard manufacturer not Intel. Look on the drivers page for your motherboard and just download the latest ones.

What issue are you having? :)

This is a windows 7 machine using an asrock z68 mobo and a 2500k cpu, worked fine for years.

A few days ago the machine would not recognise the shut down command from the start menu and I had to use cli to shut it down.

Now the hdmi to my tv has stopped working and when I ran the intel update facility to see if it was a driver issue the update tool didn't find any hardware, nothing at all ,not even old drivers.

Previously the Intel update driver has always found the Intel drivers on the machine and stated their issue numbers etc.

I found an Intel graphics driver update by following the page for the cpu specs, installed it and the hdmi displayed to the tv for about 3-5 seconds then went blank again.
Very frustrating.

Do you have a discrete GPU you can use? It would help troubleshoot the onboard issues.

If it comes to it I can pull a card from another machine and try it in this one.

I have a dual monitor display and d-sub to my desktop monitor works fine and I am typing this message to you on that display,it's the hdmi that follows 2x7.5m runs with a neet connector in between that is throwing this fault up.

Damn thing has worked fine for years before this though.

The display options in Windows 7 had changed to 'show desktop only on display 2' instead of 'duplicate displays',probably due to a recent windows update.

All sorted and a simple solution....

hopefully.
