Is there a monitor on the market that:
  • has a 1440p resolution
  • supports a minimum of 360Hz refresh rate
  • offers great text clarity
  • is not curved
  • not EOL

Alienware 27 360Hz QD-OLED Gaming Monitor - AW2725DF

Samsung 27" Odyssey OLED G60SD QHD, 360Hz Gaming Monitor

(no idea about text clarity I just googled what you were looking for)

Thx but both are not the best in terms of text clarity.

I've spent good few weeks looking at reviews of every single screen on the market and the only one that would fall into my expectations would be PG27AQN but its AOL. Tried multiple oleds including both you proposed and i think the perfect one doesn't exist, hence my question here :)

AFAIK, Text clarity on OLED is to do with the subixel layout and compatibility with ClearType.
So until ClearType is updated to render fonts with with oled sub pixel layout in mind things will stay the same.

This will be the answer why only IPS screens looks good to me, tbh I'm not a fan of oled colours so maybe one day they'll make ips to my liking again...

regarding the colours, if you put it in srgb mode the colours are very accurate. I think its the getting used to the "Black" Blacks of an OLED that makes the colours seem different.

The reason I changed from IPS to OLED was because of the new indianna jones game. When you are in the catacombs its a very dark, low lit game.
I was in a pitch black room and it still looked like I'd got something shining on the screen, then it clicked.... IPS glow.

I wouldnt go back now unless I really have to. soo much better and to be fair I dont really notice the text clarity issue.

May be a good idea id you could see an OLED that is setup properly to see if the slight difference in text clarity bothers you ?

Is there much value in an IPS which can do 360 Hz? Most IPS displays I’ve used can barely handle 165 Hz due to poor pixel response times in comparison to other display technologies.

@Baddass don't know if this is true anymore?

I believe the new Samsung 2025 QD-OLED panels might fulfill your criteria. Not sure if they're for sale yet but they should be soon.
