where the Ram goes on the ASROCK EXT4 GEN 3.... I'M GETTING 2X4GB Corsair blue vengeance.

because i want to get it far away from Megahalems as poss, so that the tall blue fins dont clash with the fan, i.e on the furthest slots away from the processor

thanks

Hi there,

According to the manual you can run the two sticks in the 2nd and 4th RAM slots from the CPU and still preserver dual channel mode. However, if you try and put them in the slots furthest from the CPU (3rd and 4th) then they will only run in single channel mode - so you will only get around half the usual memory bandwidth.

Personally, if I was going for a high end system and a nice heatsink cooler (like the megahalems) then I would invest in some low-profile RAM - so you simply don't have to worry about heatsink clearance and you an put the RAM wherever you like.

This kit is a good option, as are the "LP" versions of the Corsair vengeance RAM (also available in Blue or White).

it looks like the tall blue vengeance fits, because Megahalems isn't nearly as wide as Thors hammer, but it looks like only on slot 2 and 4.

twin Ram has to go on slot 1 and 3
or slot 2 and 4......ASROCK sais it cant go on 3 and 4

I'm using this exact combination and the RAM in slot 2 is in contact with the fan clips on the Megahalems. A low profile set would be better.

yea' i've decided to get the Xigmatek Aegir Instead, much cheaper, it's also not quite as wide as Megahalems.... this cooler is better than Thor's Hammer
