i have my eye on was gunna stick 4 of them in my Asus CROSSHAIR nForce 590 SLi but can i ask what the advanatge of haveing Micron D9 chips is this good bad or what and all in all is this good ram i am not looking to overclock right away but maybe in a year or so then yes

or if not what else will suit my rig i need 4 gig i wanna overclock in the future

any help wil be great also some info on d9 chips please thanks :)

If you're going to buy Micron D9's then go straight to the source and get the Crucial Ballistix. They're owned by Micron and have the best customer service in the business.

But if you're not going to overclock them then you may as well get some 'normal' PC6400 such as the Geil or the OCZ.

so what are d9 chips cob can u shed any lgiht ? say i wasnt gunna over clock for a while i mean if im honist with my self im not really gunna have time to mess about as i work away on oil rigs so when i can get to the comp ill prob just wanna play my games

so if im honist i want the best 4 gig to stick in my computer for 100 pound budget help :)

The D9's are considered to be the best DDR2 chips and can attain speeds far higher than any other. It's pretty much because they respond very well to voltage ie- The more volts you run through them the faster they can go. Even the PC5300 chips can easily attain PC8500 speeds. Tho they can have a nasty habit of dying. But Crucial usually replace them very quickly and without any questions.

But they're unnecessary if not overclocking. The Geil and OCZ I mentioned are more than enough for most systems. Or you could go for a single 2x2gb kit like the Corsair, OCZ or Geil.

Ah I hadn't saw that first G.Skill before.

G.Skill are pretty good, and the fact that that first kit is 4-4-4-12 means it's a little faster than the three 2x2gb kits I posted, and it should overclock a bit better if you ever decide to.

Lists all current RAM and tells you what chips the manufacturers are using.

Useful tool for finding bargain RAM IF you know what you are looking for. :D

They're on the list mate:

PC2-6400 PK F2-6400CL4D-1GBPK 4.0-4-4-12 @ 1.9 ~ 2.0V Elpida 6-layer PCB
F2-6400CL4D-2GBPK 4.0-4-4-12 @ 1.9 ~ 2.0V ProMOS 6-layer PCB

Used loads of G-Skill kits in my time and they've always been good, clocking well past their rated speeds with no problems. At that price, I'd go for it :D
