Does Marmite ever go off?

I have been eating marmite for 50+ years and do not recall ever seeing mould forming on it.

My Gods, you think that's natural?!

In my experience its not the Marmite that goes off, its the butter from the knife that was dipped in it that goes manky in the Jar.
